About
Hi, I'm Ari Blinder, the owner of Math For The Masses.Â
Many people take years to realize their passion in life. For me, I always knew it was math. After many years, I learned I enjoy helping others in math more than I do just studying it myself.
I fell in love with math as a young child and continue to live my life fascinated by all of the numbers and patterns I see around me (see the photo comparison below). I took accelerated math classes starting in middle school and majored in mathematics at Cornell University.
I originally planned on advancing my own math career by pursuing a Ph.D. in math. Due to some life circumstances, I had to scrap those plans and pursue what I thought was the "not ideal but next best option" - a degree in math education. Looking back, it turned out to be one of the best life choices I have ever made.
In 2005, I enrolled in a math education program at Rutgers University. Since then I've taught math at both a public and private high school, worked as a professor and tutor at a community college, and assisted multiple math education companies improve their content and implementation of lessons.
Over the years, I've grown to approach math education in a very different way than how I was taught at Rutgers as well as how I saw it applied in the private education sector. Now I am working on my own to share my perspective with a wider audience.
I believe students deserve the option of another approach to math education than the one they currently receive. I'm here to fill that role- one new lesson at a time.
All the best,
Ari
